In
accordance with the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976 the BLM
must prepare and maintain on a continuing basis an inventory of all public
lands and their resource and other values.

BLM Manual
6310 – Conducting Wilderness Characteristics inventory on BLM Lands
includes determining the following:
1.
Determining
size requirement: 5,000 contiguous BLM land acres.
2.
Determining
Naturalness: the degree to which an area generally appears to have been
affected primarily by the forces of nature with the imprint of people’s
work substantially unnoticeable.
3.
Outstanding
Opportunities for Primitive Recreation and Solitude: Non-motorized and
non-mechanized activities.
4.
Supplemental
Values: Ecological, Geological, or other features scientific, educational,
or historic value.

Extensive
association with Right of Way lease statuses as well as ArcGIS software.
·
Ensuring
that current land and right of way leases are in compliance with the
National Environmental Protection Act of 1970.

Collecting
submissions from hunters of harvested deer and elk to test for Chronic
Wasting Disease.

Performing
mandatory checks on harvested Moose, Bear, Sheep, Goats, and Mountain
Lions.

Collecting
DNA samples from all of the mandatory check species for biological data.
·
Tagging Ram
horns, as well as Bear and Mountain Lion hides to put in the Divisions
registry.
